Ektacolour print, framed 76 x 85 cm Signed and numbered by the photographer in ink on the reverse, edition no. 2/66 (Parkett 2004) "Woodstock 1969. I took this picture Friday evening around seven thirty. I had just turned nineteen. It was the only picture I took that weekend. I had gone to Woodstock with only one exposure in my camera. I thought I could buy film in the nearest town. Not knowing what I was getting into, I thought I could get out of it. You know, "come and go." Coming was hard enough (it took six hours to travel the last twenty miles, and "leaving" was impossible. Anyway, realizing I was there to stay, I decided not to save my only exposure but rather get rid of it as fast as I could. So I just stood up, whirled around and (click) took it." -Richard Prince
