This R6 was used by Salgado during the 1.Gulf War of 1991. Practically all his famous photos of the burning oilfields etc. were made with this camera and the Macro-Elmar 2.8/60mm no.3390243. After Salgado's return the camera was overhauled and repaired by Leica, shown in the Leica Museum in Solms and was lately exhibited in the WestLicht Museum in Vienna. Along with the camera there will be two signed, original photographs (fine prints, 40x50cm), which themselves represent a very substantial value, as well as a copy of the limited edition book 'Workers' (Artist's Proof No.7 of 30 copies) with many shots of Kuwait 1991. A letter from Salgado for the purchaser completes this unique camera outfit. The proceeds from the sale will go to Salgado's foundation dedicate to renewing tropical rainforest.
