Leica M4 black paint 'Baron Wolman' *

A beautiful Leica M4, owned and used by the famous American photographer Baron Wolman. The camera is in near-mint condition, comes with original box, leather strap, instructions and body cap, as well as a copy of the bill of sale signed by Baron Wolman. The lot also includes an amazing 11x14" archival
pigment print by Baron Wolman of George Harrison, taken in London in 1968, a print of Baron Wolman with Tony Bonanno (by Richard Khanlian), signed print by Tony Bonanno of Baron Wolman displaying a
print of Janis Joplin, and signed print by Tony Bonanno of Baron Wolman in his studio
with his negative files (this image used by NY Times and also in one
of his many books).

Baron
Wolman (1937-2020) was a renowned American photographer celebrated for his
iconic images of the 1960s counterculture and music scene. He rose to
prominence as the first Chief Photographer for Rolling Stone magazine, where he
captured electrifying moments of legendary musicians such as Jimi Hendrix,
Janis Joplin, and The Rolling Stones. Wolman's candid and intimate photographs
not only documented the era's music revolution but also encapsulated the spirit
of a generation. His work remains a significant and cherished part of music and
cultural history, reflecting a unique perspective on a transformative period in
American culture.
