Chinese Institute of Science set of two 2/55mm prototype lenses

A unique set of two M42-mount 2/55mm lenses, made by the Chinese Academy Of Science, Institute of Optics and Precision Machinery, most probably to a direct government order and in a close cooperation with Soviet engineers from the GOI factory. Both lenses no.0125601 and 0125602 are finished to a very high standard, the design is inspired by the Biotar 2/58mm, but they have been made to even higher tolerances than original Zeiss products, the quality of the engraving is also excellent. The front rims are engraved with "Instrument Museum of Chinese Academy of Science". Included with these special lenses is an original fitted wooden box. The offered set was token of appreciation and a present from the Chinese Institute of Science to the Soviet engineers and was later a part of the inventory of GOI factory museum.
