In 1942, as a result of the Leningrad siege, the military orders from the Soviet army devolved to KMZ. The majority of the production were artillery binoculars, spotting scopes etc, but in 1943-44 the Red Army was also in need of a photo rifle. The result was a KMZ version of the FS-2. The offered example is in good, original condition, comes with a matching Tair 4.5/30cm no.1275 with and a modified Fed no.11707. A rifle with a subsequent number 1246 was shown in Princelle 'The authentic guide to Russian and Soviet cameras' on page 121.
